Built in 1913, this brick American Foursquare style house with Arts and Crafts detailing is across from Beman Park. The house was designed by the prominent Troy architect Stanton P. Lee who worked from about 1900 to 1953. His homes and commercial buildings are found in the uptown neighborhoods around Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Emma Willard School.
The home features high crown moldings throughout, an Arts and Crafts style fireplace in the Living Room; a Dining Room as well as a Breakfast Room with window seat; and a Kitchen with Butler's and Maid's Pantries. The Dining and Breakfast rooms have bay windows. The original casement windows are intact throughout the house. The upstairs has 4 Bedrooms, a sleeping porch, and a full bath with tiled walls. A maid's room is present on the unfinished 3rd floor, there are formal front stairs and back servant's stairs, a laundry chute and full basement. A large front porch is complemented by a rear patio with perennial garden.
